"The Art of Chuck Jones" Bob Doerfler Gag Illustration with Studio Staff Signatures (Warner Brothers, c. 1940s). Bob Doerfler was an in-betweener in the Chuck Jones animation unit. He was a short, bucktoothed, chain-smoking guy who was the subject of many in-studio gag drawings. In this specialty illustration by Chuck Jones, Bob's co-workers are wishing the newly recruited Marine well. The art in itself is pretty darn cool, in ink and watercolor with a figure size of 6". The "Semper Fidelis" lettering is also done by hand. But what makes this lot extra special are the signatures of Bob's co-workers at Warner Brothers. Included are signatures from Phil de Lara, Abe Levitow, Roy Laufenburger, Chuck Jones, Ted Pierce, Phil Monroe, Rudy Larriva, Ken Harris, Ben Washam, and several others. The art and signatures are on Bristol board measuring 9.5" x 11.75". In Very Good condition with minor handling and edge wear.
