    Description

"The Art of Art Riley" Holiday "Christmas R.F.D." Painting (Walt Disney, c. 1940s/50s). Arthur "Art" Riley (1911 - 1998) began with the Walt Disney Studios in 1938 and worked there for over 30 years. His work can be seen on production backgrounds from virtually every major animated feature film from Pinocchio all the way up to Winnie the Pooh and Mary Poppins. This is an Art Riley original painting done for a holiday card. It shows holiday-inspired mail boxes for Mr. and Mrs. Chipmunk, and for Mr. and Mrs. Mouse. Great holiday caroling scene inside the painting as well. Painted in gouache on board measuring 15" x 12". The painting is hand-signed in the bottom right corner. Back of painting is stamped The Estate of Art Riley. It has his Burbank Home address and a handwritten title of "Christmas R.F.D." The painting is in a mat measuring 18" x 14". There is a very light, hard-to-see see crease in the painting. Good condition.
