Description
"The Art of Art Riley" Elves with Bowing Ball and Pin Illustration (Walt Disney, c. 1950s-60s). Disney Legend Arthur Irwin "Art" Riley worked for the studio for almost 30 years, primarily as a background artist on films like Saludos Amigos, The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad, and Peter Pan. Here's an example of Art's more playful side, as a group of tiny elves decorate a bowling ball and pin for Christmas. The artwork is in ink with crayons or color pencils and fixative on a sheet of lightweight board measuring 15" x 12". The art is signed, and includes an address sticker and is stamped "The Estate of Art Riley" on back, with an old auction number, 7-10 noted in blue marker. Artboard shows minor handling and edge wear, with old tape on the back/edges. Very Good condition.Auction Info
