Description"The Art of Art Riley" Bambi-Inspired Painting (Walt Disney, c. 1940s/50s). Arthur "Art" Riley (1911 - 1998) joined the Walt Disney Studios as a background painter in 1938, a job he held for over 30 years. His work can be seen in Pinocchio, Fantasia, Cinderella, Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan, Mary Poppins, and so much more. He also was part of the background team on Bambi and exhibited his personal Fine Art nationally. This is a beautiful Art Riley original painting that is reminiscent of his work on Bambi, in gouache on board measuring 12.5" x 10.5". It is hand-signed by the artist in bottom right corner and stamped on back "The Estate of Art Riley." This may have been personal study for the film or something from his personal art archives. Either way, this is a stunning Art Riley original. Minor handling and edge wear. Some tape on border. Overall condition is Very Good.
