"Happy" World War II Insignia Art by Hank Porter (Walt Disney, c. 1940s). Here's a highly-detailed preliminary drawing for a World War II insignia featuring one of Snow White's seven dwarfs. Any dwarf insignia artwork is considered rare; choosing Happy for this one is so appropriate. This "Happy" drawing was created by Hank Porter for a Special Services division, the Army's entertainment division. He's smiling wide as he carries a bottle of "Port (of Embarkation)" wine, wearing a bell-boy cap over his hoodie; The Special Services "SS" appears on Happy's tray, and on a pin he's wearing. Graphite and blue pencil on trimmed onionskin paper, with a bold image size of 8.5". Minor handling. Fine condition.
