YuYu Hakusho Kurama Production Cel Setup with Custom Painted Background (Pierrot, c. 1992-94). From the celebrated anime series YuYu Hakusho, the fan-favorite manipulator of plant life Kurama makes a standout appearance in this original production cel setup. A fox demon reborn into human form after a childhood injury, the calm and poised member of Team Urameshi was originally a well-known thief and leader of a group of bandits. Here he is presented in his later alternative attire resembling a traditional though sleeveless Chinese changshan-style robe in a pale yellow with blue trim. With a thoughtful expression gracing his face, Kurama has been hand-painted to a stunningly frame-filling closeup measuring 8.75" x 7.5" on the 12 field cel marked A2 in the top right. The accompanying custom background has been hand-painted nearly edge-to-edge in gouache on board measuring 14" x 9.75". With typical handling and edge wear including archival artist tape, minor linework fading, and a faint vertical crease in the right half of the background, overall this pensive setup is in Very Good condition.
