Description
X-Men: The Animated Series "The Final Decision" Gambit and Wolverine Original Production Cel (Marvel Studios, 1993). "Next time I try to save your life, have sense enough to let me do it." Wolverine heroically throws Gambit out of harm's way as the mutant hunting Sentinels march down to trap them in this 12 field cel. Originally aired on 3/27/1993 as Episode 13 of Season 1, the Master Mold and Bolivar Trask save Senator Kelly from Magento's plans to kill him, but the X-Men soon learn that the Master Mold has a more devious plan for mutant kind - extermination. This is a rare moment for Gambit to have normal-colored eyes as opposed to his black colored sclera with red colored irises, which is because the show was infamous for having production issues. The hand-painted cel can be seen at the 14:21 mark of the episode. There is a neat cameo appearance from a cartoon version of Ghost Rider as it flashes on screen at the 7:47 mark as Gambit is remembering faces of people he's met. The combined character size of Gambit and Wolverine measures at 9.25" x 6.5" and is displayed over a print background for presentation purposes.
