Description

X-Men: Pryde of the X-Men Magneto Production Cel (Marvel Studios/Toei, 1989). "When the Brotherhood of Mutant Terrorists and I are through, humans will no longer have a place on planet Earth!" This epic full-body shot of the villainous Magneto comes from the opening moments of "Pryde of the X-Men" (at the 2:10-2:15 mark), an animated pilot created as a proof of concept for the mighty mutant franchise. Although not picked up at the time of its production in 1989, the pilot would eventually help pave the way for the creation of the iconic X-Men: The Animated Series, thanks to the persistence of future Fox Kids executive Margaret Loesch and animator/director Larry Houston.
This beautiful piece of animation art, rendered by the legendary Toei studio, is matted (in red and purple, naturally) to an image area of 11.75" x 20.75", with an overall size of 17.25" x 26.25". The hand-painted cel has been placed on a printed background for presentation purposes and is in Excellent condition.
