    Description

Wynken, Blynken and Nod Courvoisier Multiplane Setup (Walt Disney, 1938). The multiplane camera revolutionized animation and Disney is credited with constructing the first practical one for use in the filming of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. It was first tested on a few shorts like this Silly Symphony as well as the Academy Award-winning The Old Mill. The process allowed for up to seven layers of animation at once. Images were painted in oil on glass and could be set at different depths create dimensional environments. This is a scene from around the 0:08 mark of Wynken, Blynken and Nod as the title characters sail through a starry dreamscape in a boat made from a wooden shoe. Painted in oil on multiple layers of glass over an airbrushed background, it is in its original Courvoisier frame with original sticker on back. Due to the difficulty in painting and assembling them, very few of these adorable little setups were ever made making this a truly unique and rare addition to any animation art collection. The 8.25" x 8" frame has an opening that measures 5.25" x 5". Its shows minor and condition is Very Good. Frame is sold as-is.
