Description

Winter The Kid Cel Signed by Pete Docter (1988). Pixar writer/director/animator Pete Docter has racked up quite an impressive resume in recent years, in films like Toy Story; A Bug's Life; Monsters, Inc.; and Up. Here's special little something from his very first effort. Winter was done as a student at the California Institute of the Arts, based on Pete's childhood memories in Minnesota. Here's the little boy featured in the short, all bundled up by his mother to go play in the snow -- except he's so bundled, he can't move! This is a 12 field cel, with the image (which was drawn in graphite) cut from paper and glued in position, with colors added by color pencils or crayon. The image size is about 4.25". The cel has been hand-signed by Pete to Spike and Mike, who added the film to their Animation Festival way back when, launching this very important career. The cel has some handling wear, but the image remains in Fine condition. From the Spike and Mike Festival of Animation Archives.
