Description
Winnie the Pooh and the Honey Tree Rabbit and Eeyore Production Cel (Walt Disney, 1966). "A donkey named Eeyore is his friend, and Kanga and little Roo. There's Rabbit and Piglet, and there's Owl, but most of all Winnie the Pooh." From the debut animated appearance of Disney's beloved Silly Old Bear, comes this original production cel featuring 100 Acre Wood residents Rabbit and Eeyore in Winnie the Pooh and the Honey Tree. Despite being Pooh's first ever appearance on film, it would regretfully be the last short directly produced by Walt Disney as he would succumb to lung cancer within a year of its release. The Honey Tree short would later be rereleased as part of the 1977 anthology film The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh which also featured two other early Pooh shorts; this beloved collection is still available today. In a frame that hails from the introductory sequence of the short while the treasured theme song plays, Rabbit can be spotted near the 2:37 mark of the anthology version of the film, with Eeyore's image appears slightly later near the 8:32 mark just after Christopher Robin has reattached his tail. Both hand-painted characters are featured full-figured, Rabbit measuring 2.25" x 4.5" and Eeyore measuring 3.5" x 2.75". Framed under glass to an overall measurement of 16" x 12.25" with a mat aperture of approximately 11.75" x 6.25", the characters have been meticulously cut to edge and placed on a solid color paper background, and the mat includes a 3" x 1.75" custom cel painted title. All frames are sold as-is. Photos are not representative of actual frame condition. Typical handling and wear including minor edge curling from being trimmed.
