Description
Who Framed Roger Rabbit Mickey Mouse and Bugs Bunny Production Cel Setup (Walt Disney/Touchstone/Amblin, 1988). "Eh, what's up, Doc? Jumpin' without a parachute? Kinda dangerous, ain't it?" "Yeah, you could get killed! Ha ha!" Bugs Bunny and Mickey Mouse share the silver screen in this astonishingly rare hand-painted original production cel setup from Who Framed Roger Rabbit. Seen at the 1:13:05 mark of the film, this setup depicts Mickey and Bugs as they tease a desperate Eddie Valiant, giving him a spare tire rather than a spare parachute as he falls from the top of a cartoonishly tall building in Toontown. Executive producer Steven Spielberg convinced Warner Bros., Fleischer Studios, King Features Syndicate, Felix the Cat Productions, Turner Entertainment, and Universal Pictures/Walter Lantz Productions to "lend" their characters to the film with stipulations on how those characters were portrayed. The result was remarkably rare sequences like this one, in which Mickey Mouse and Bugs Bunny banter together in a shared scene. This is one of the only instances in which you can find original production artwork depicting both Mickey Mouse AND Bugs Bunny! A coveted image of the two cartoon giants of animation history from separate studios, this setup is matted with a window size of 13" x 8" and an overall mat size of 18.5" x 13.5". The piece shows minor handling, and the condition is Very Good.Auction Info
