Description
What's Opera, Doc? Elmer Fudd Production Cel (Warner Brothers, 1957). "Oh Brünnhilde, you're so lovely!" This is a piece of animation history: an original hand-inked and hand-painted production cel of Elmer Fudd as Siegfried, from the Chuck Jones-directed masterpiece that stands as Bugs Bunny's most memorable appearance (this cel is from the Song Sequence in which Fudd first spies Bugs Bunny in drag at about the 3:22 mark). Jerry Beck's book, The 50 Greatest Cartoons ranks this short as the single greatest cartoon of all time. Jones said of it: "From sheer production quality, magnificent music, and wonderful animation, this is our most elaborate and satisfying production." Cels from this cartoon are incredibly rare and highly sought after. An amazing full-figure image of 6", with "33" written in the lower right corner. In Fair/Good condition, with paint cracking and missing throughout the cel. Restoration is required.Auction Info
