Description

Walt Disney Educational Film Timothy Mouse, Jiminy Cricket, and Pinocchio Color Model Cels Group of 3 (Walt Disney, c. 1970s-80s). In the 1970s and 1980s a special branch of Disney known as the Walt Disney Educational Film Division created academic shorts and filmstrips that were available exclusively for use in schools featuring characters from beloved films such as Bambi, Dumbo, Pinocchio, and Winnie the Pooh. Offered in this lot are three original color model cels from one such short. In visual arts, a color model is a studio document used to help standardize the appearance of a character. The document is used by other artists as a reference tool to help maintain continuity. These hand-painted 12 field cels feature their characters bright and full-figured in the center of their frames. Timothy Mouse measures 3.5" x 5.25", Jiminy Cricket measures 1.75" x 4.25", and Pinocchio measures 3.75" x 5", what a fantastic set with great poses! Each of the cels has been mounted with artist's tape to boards averaging 10.5" x 14.5". The boards show light handling and edge wear; the art is in Very Good condition.
