Seen during the dramatic scene at the 1:01:14 mark of the dark fantasy horror film, this remarkable hand-painted closeup image nearly fills the 13.75" x 9" cel. The piece is displayed on a production background rendered in gouache on background board, numbered 21 and C-210 in the upper corners. Directed by Yoshiaki Kawajiri, (Wicked City, Ninja Scroll), Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust follows the story of the titular bounty hunter as he tracks the notorious vampire Meier Link through a lush post-apocalyptic fantasy world.
