Description
Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust Caroline Production Cel with Production Background and Animation Drawing (Madhouse, 2000). Caroline, the Barbarois Mercenary, meets her (apparent) demise in this hand-painted production cel from the exceptional anime film Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust. This shocking image was created to appear at the 50:49 mark of the movie, as D severs Caroline's head, measuring a splendid image size of 13.25" x 8.25" and presented on a production background done in gouache on a 14" x 10" background board. Included with the lot is the intricate matching animation drawing created in graphite and colored pencils. A pinhole can be seen on the top and bottom right corners of the background. The cel is taped to the background by the top edge with archival artist tape. A small fold crease is present in the bottom left corner of the cel and light fading can be seen on the linework. The animation drawing has faint paint residue. In overall Very Good condition with minor handling and edge wear from production.Auction Info
