Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust Borgoff Production Cel and Animation Drawing (Madhouse, 2000). Borgoff pulls himself out of the water after narrowly surviving an encounter with the monsters of the Barbarois in this astonishingly detailed hand-painted original production cel. Seen at the 1:02:28 mark of the anime dark fantasy film Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust, this fantastic cel is accompanied by its matching original animation drawing rendered in graphite and color pencil on animation paper. A widely acclaimed film directed by Yoshiaki Kawajiri, whose other notable titles include Wicked City and Ninja Scroll, Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust is a gorgeously animated and masterfully crafted surrealist adventure. This image from the film nearly fills the paper and cel, and each piece measures an overall 13.75" x 9.25". Both the cel and drawing are numbered B1 in the upper right corners, and they show minor handling and edge wear with the drawing showing mild paint debris. The condition is Very Good.Auction Info
