Uncle Sam Magoo Mr. Magoo Production Cel with Master Background (UPA, 1970). Mr. Magoo acts as Uncle Sam in the 1970 animated TV special Uncle Sam Magoo, telling various stories of monumental events and major players in United States history. This is a spectacular hand-painted original production cel featuring Mr. Magoo in his Uncle Sam attire from the special. In addition this fantastic piece is presented on a jaw-dropping original Master production background rendered stunningly in gouache on 12 field board. A perfect showcase of the colorful and bold mid-century stylings of classic UPA cartoons, the vivid backgrounds of the special are credited to artists Ron Dias, David High, Dave Weidman. The cel bears the number MG-1 in the lower right corner, and the background shows the hand-written production code 66-8 with the background number BG108. A beautiful setup featuring Mr. Magoo as Uncle Sam from the classic special! Minor studio handling and edge wear, and the condition is Very Good.Auction Info
