Description
Two-Gun Mickey Production Cel with Production Background (Walt Disney, 1932/1934). This short featured Mickey Mouse as a cowboy, co-starring Minnie Mouse and Peg Leg Pete. This short was directed by Ben Sharpsteen and released on 12/15/34. Here is an extremely rare hand-inked, hand-painted black and white production cel of Two-Gun Mickey Mouse firing both his six shooters. You can see this image at around the 6:00 mark, when his horse pulls him back behind a rock to stay away from Pete's bandits who are shooting at Mickey. Great image from gun to heel, measuring 5". This is a full 12 field 2-peghole nitrate cel. Black and white Mickey production cels are considered the rarest of all Mickey Mouse production artwork. This lot is even more special as the cel is on an original 12 field 2-peghole black and white hand-painted production background from the Wilfred Jackson-directed Silly Symphony cartoon Bears and Bees. This short was released on 7/9/32. You can see this background at the 3:10 mark. The bottom border of the background is written Clark SC16. The background looks terrific with the production cel. Early 1930s black and white Mickey Mouse production cel on a Disney early '30s black and white production background -- as rare as they get!
