Description

Tom and Jerry The Little Orphan Jerry and Nibbles Re-Release Production Cel (MGM, 1949/c. 1960s). Jerry and his new little pal Nibbles (who is always hungry) are running from Tom in this original hand-inked, hand-painted production cel. When MGM reissued the Academy Award-winning short The Little Orphan, original directors Bill Hanna and Joe Barbera had moved on to their own studio, and Chuck Jones was in charge of animating new Tom and Jerry cartoons. The studio wanted to make some changes, so Chuck and his team expertly matched the original animation with new cels that reflected the change (in this case, switching a knife Tom throws at the mice to a fork). This cel is from the reissued film, and includes figure sizes of approximately 2" and 3.5", plus a large Linda Jones holographic seal. The scene-matched background is a print, added for presentation purposes. Matted with an opening of 15" x 9", and overall mat size of 18.75" x 13". Cel condition is Fine with light handling.
