Description
Todd McFarlane's Spawn Spawn Production Cel Group and Animation Drawing (HBO, c. 1997-99). Offered in this lot is a hand-painted production cel from Todd McFarlane's Spawn featuring an emblematic image of the grim and dark protagonist in incredible full figure. Debuting on May 16, 1997, this animated adaptation is known for translating the pages of the comic book to the TV screen, maintaining its somber tone and dark aesthetic. Numbered A16 in the top right corner, this 12-field cel shows Spawn measuring 9.25" x 5.5", displayed on a printed background for presentation purposes. The lot comes with the matching animation drawing, rendering the image of Spawn in graphite and color pencils. Light paint residue can be seen on the animation drawing. The cel shows mild fading on the linework and minor paint wear spots. In Very Good condition.From the Spawn writer John Leekley Collection.
