Description
Todd McFarlane's Spawn Spawn Production Cel and Animation Drawing (HBO, c. 1997-99). One of the most emblematic comic characters from the '90s, the somber Spawn, makes a star appearance in this lot with a spectacular hand-painted production cel from the animated series Todd McFarlane's Spawn. This unforgettable adaptation premiered on May 16, 1997, featuring the renowned voice actor Keith Davis as the titular antihero. In 1999, Todd McFarlane's Spawn earned the Emmy Award for Outstanding Animation Program, further establishing it as a cult-classic. Numbered A44 in the top right corner, this 12-field cel shows a great image of the obscured Spawn with his prominent green eyes and iconic red shroud, measuring 10.25" x 7.25", displayed on a printed background for presentation purposes. This lot includes the matching animation drawing showcasing the character rendered in graphite and color pencils, as well as a production folder from the series. Overall, the lot shows light handling and edge wear from production. The drawing is in Fair to Good condition, and the cel is in Very Good condition.From the Spawn writer John Leekley Collection.
