Todd McFarlane's Spawn Original Publicity Cel (HBO, c. 1997-99). "Don't you disrespect me young man. Don't you derogate or deprive. You're in my world now, not yours." An intimidating image of Spawn engulfed in his iconic red cape is presented in this gorgeous hand-painted cel. The show originally aired on 5/16/1997 and adapts the highly popularized comic of the same name, by the immensely talented Todd McFarlane who had just left Marvel Comics to create his own comics publisher Image Comics. The story of Al Simmons is one of great tragedy as he was a government assassin who was betrayed and murdered by his employer but then was resurrected as a Hell spawn to act as a leader of Hell's army. The anti-hero is voiced by the famed Keith David, and it was announced that he will receive a Hollywood Star in 2026 which will coincide with his 70th birthday, making it a special celebration. This incredible, ominous image of Spawn measures at 10.25" x 6.25"and is displayed over a print background for presentation purposes.
