Description
Todd McFarlane's Spawn "A Made Guy" Medieval Hellspawn Production Sequence of 2 and Animation Drawing Sequence of 2 (HBO, 1999). Medieval Hellspawn rides his horse into this lot, offering a remarkable sequence of two hand-painted production cel from Todd McFarlane's Spawn, featuring the nightmarish apparition wielding his axe. These images can be spotted at about the 6:08 mark of the first episode in the third season, "A Made Guy," as visions of this grim character torment our protagonist, interrogating him about the master he serves. The two 12-field cels, numbered A22 and A45 in the top right corners, show the Hellspawn covered in darkness, measuring 10.25" x 8.25", both shown on printed backgrounds for presentation purposes. Included are two animation drawings from this scene, rendered in graphite and color pencils, numbered A24 and A40. Drawing A40 has some visible scuffing from the back with a minor hole and A24 has paint residue. Overall, the lot displays light handling and edge wear from production. Drawing A40 is in Fair to Good condition; otherwise, the lot is in Very Good condition.From the Spawn writer John Leekley Collection.
