Description

The Tom and Jerry Show Spike Production Cel (MGM, c. 1975). The lovable Spike of the Tom and Jerry franchise is presented here in this excellent hand-painted original production cel, likely from The Tom and Jerry Show. Spike was created by Bill Hanna and Joe Barbera for the classic MGM Tom and Jerry film series in 1942 (he was later named Spike in 1944). The character quickly became a mainstay in the franchise, acting as a tertiary foil for Tom and his various exploits to catch Jerry. This rare 12 field cel is presented in a 15.5" x 13.25" glass frame with a mat window size of 10" x 8". Minor handling with possible trimming to fit the frame, and the condition of this picture-perfect, full-figure portrait of the character is Very Good.
