The Three Little Pigs Fifer and Fiddler Pig Production Cels Group of 2 (Walt Disney, 1934). "I'll huff and I'll puff and I'll blow your house down!" says the Big Bad Wolf as Fifer and Fiddler try to hold the door shut. The Three Little Pigs were one of the studio's first set of cartoon superstars. After their first smash hit, they went on to make three more Silly Symphony shorts -- The Big Bad Wolf (1934); The Three Little Wolves (1936); and The Practical Pig (1939). This is a rare key scene hand-inked, hand-painted trimmed nitrate production cel of the pigs holding the door shut from the Big Bad Wolf. You can see this around the 5:13 mark into the short. The cel is trimmed to 8" x 10" with the pigs standing full-figure, measuring 3.5". There's a tiny crack in Fifer's white hat. The cel is taped to a 16 field blank Color Model reference sheet from the 1950s; this was most likely kept as reference for television appearances. A second trimmed nitrate cel of Fifer and Fiddler hiding under a carpet is included. It is also taped to a 16 field blank Color Model sheet. The cel is trimmed to 8" x 6" with 3" images. Very rare to find cels of these characters! There is tape on the Color Model sheets, minor handling and edge wear to paper. Overall Good condition.

I have done a preliminary analysis and the total of the hammer prices was $67,550. With BP, the final figure was $80,722.25. That is against the total insurance value of $34,785 or 2.32 x ‘pre-auction estimate’. Incredible, really, so a big thanks.
