The Star Wars Holiday Special Stormtrooper Starfighter Production Cel (Nelvana, 1978). On 11/17/78, The Star Wars Holiday Special premiered on CBS. It featured live action footage, film clips and newly animated segments by Nelvana Studios. The special presented several new elements of the Star Wars Universe, including a celebration of "Life Day." The animated segments introduced a new character called Boba Fett (who soon will have his own live action movie). Boba Fett would go on to achieve great popularity with the fans. This special was only shown once, and never rebroadcast or officially released to home video. This is an extremely rare hand-painted 12 field 3-cel setup of a Stormtrooper Starfighter in flight. The overall image is a stunning 9". The cel is on a print background for presentation purposes, and includes a Lucasfilm seal on the cel. This is considered the first official Star Wars spinoff of any kind. Fine condition.
