Description
The Simpsons "Mr. Lisa Goes to Washington" Homer, Marge, Maggie, and Bart Production Cel (Fox, 1991). This original production cel from The Simpsons Season Three, Episode Two, "Mr. Lisa Goes to Washington," captures a unique moment in the series. At the 18:39 timestamp, the cel depicts the Simpson family, sans Lisa, dining in a fancy restaurant, with visible tension and discomfort. This scene unfolds after Lisa's patriotic essay wins a contest organized by Reading Digest magazine, earning the family a trip to Washington D.C. However, the trip takes a sour turn as Lisa's belief in democracy is jolted upon witnessing her local representative accept a bribe to allow the destruction of Springfield National Forest. The episode sparked controversy, particularly within the timber industry, for its storyline involving a timber lobbyist's attempt to bribe a congressman to clear Springfield Forest. This 5-cel setup is hand-painted and presented over a print background of the layout art, complete with a Fox seal, capturing a pivotal moment in the series blending political satire with the show's characteristic humor. The setup is presented in Very Good condition.More information about 20th Century Fox Artist.
