Description

The Simpsons "E-I-E-I-(Annoyed Grunt)" Production Background (Fox, 1999). This classic image of Springfield's Googolplex cinema appears in the opening seconds of Episode 5 in Season 11 as the Simpson family goes to see The Poke of Zoro. Simpsons fans will remember the episode best for Homer's persistent glove-slapping of other Springfielders and challenging them to duels. The B-52s even contributed a parody of their hit song "Love Shack" titled "Glove Slap" to the production. This original hand-painted one-of-a-kind 12 field background/held cel was released through Fox Studio's "Collector's Portfolio". Following the initial limited release of production art at a New York auction in 1992 The Simpsons Animation Art Program began releasing only 100 of these unique production setups each year from the Fox archives. They represent some the finest and rarest Simpsons production art available today. They also represent some of the funniest moments and highlight the hilarious fleeting images that motivate many fans to stop and pause the show to fully appreciate the hidden details. Who would want to miss My Dinner with Jar Jar or Das Booty Call? The piece bears a Fox seal and serial number in the lower left corner and comes with a matching Certificate of Authenticity with serial number CPBG-AABF19-E0205. It is in a 22" x 19" frame under Plexiglas with a mat opening of 12" x 9.5". Condition is Fine and the frame is sold as-is.
