Description

The Simpsons "Do the Bartman" RARE Production Cel and Master Production Background (Fox Studios, 1991). The irrepressible Bart Simpson takes center stage in this production cel, capturing his signature mischievous grin and lively energy from the music video, "Do the Bartman." The song was a featured track in the album, "The Simpsons Sing the Blues," which reached the top spot on the Billboard charts in the UK. The song was anonymously co-written and co-produced by Michael Jackson, who voiced the character Leon Kompowsky in the season three episode "Stark Raving Dad" - credited as John Jay Smith for legal reasons. This fantastic 12 field-size hand-painted production cel is presented over a hand-painted Master production cel/background from the video. Amazingly, this production background only appears in certain releases of Do the Batman. The animated music video was released just two years after the fall of the Berlin Wall, and the Simpsons-ified version of the Berlin Wall seen in this background was likely only shown in certain markets, as the real-world events were still fairly recent and the depiction may not have been suitable for every market. This is a humorous reference to current-events and is one of the many instances where The Simpsons' writers incorporate real-world elements into its satirical storytelling. This production cel and master background pairing encapsulate the essence of Do the Bartman, a culturally significant music video that captures the zeitgeist of its time. The cel and background together create a harmonious visual narrative that brings the animated world to life, making it an exquisite addition to any collection and a nostalgic trip down memory lane for fans of The Simpsons. This rare production cel setup is In Very Good condition.
