Description

The Prince and the Pauper Mickey Mouse Production Cel (Walt Disney, 1990). "Be seated sire." "After you!" says Mickey. "No, no. Beauty before age, sire." "Oh no. Age before beauty!" "Your highness, you're such a sport." "SIT DOWN!" This original production cel from Disney's The Prince and the Pauper features Mickey Mouse in a pivotal moment near the 20:06 timestamp when the Archbishop mistakenly attempts to crown the wrong mouse. Released on November 16, 1990, alongside The Rescuers Down Under, this short film takes a notably darker tone compared to most Mickey Mouse cartoons. Mickey, voiced by Wayne Allwine and primarily animated by Disney legend Andreas Deja, shines in this adaptation of Mark Twain's classic tale. Allwine, married to Minnie Mouse voice actress Russi Taylor, was an iconic voice for the beloved character. Deja, renowned for animating many iconic Disney characters, took on the challenge of bringing Mickey to life, imbuing him with humor, charm, and heart. This cel, hand-painted on 16-field acetate, captures Mickey and the Archbishop in one of the film's key scenes. It is framed to 20" x 17" and presented over a printed background, with a Disney Seal and Certificate of Authenticity (COA) affixed to the back. The cel is in Very Good condition, making it a wonderful collectible. All frames are sold as-is. Photos are not representative of actual frame condition.
