Description

The Prince and the Pauper Mickey Mouse and Archbishop Production Cel (Walt Disney, 1990). An exceptional original production cel from Walt Disney's 1990 featurette The Prince and the Pauper, featuring Mickey Mouse and the Archbishop. This hand-painted cel on 16-field acetate is set over a color print background and bears the official Walt Disney seal. Matted to 19" x 13", it showcases Mickey in one of the film's most heartfelt moments. Directed by George Scribner and inspired by Mark Twain's classic tale, the story unfolds in 16th-century England, where a benevolent King's illness allows the corrupt Captain Pete to oppress the people. When a poor peasant named Mickey meets the young Prince-his exact double-the two exchange places to glimpse each other's lives. Their adventure leads to courage, compassion, and the ultimate triumph of justice as the Prince and Mickey expose Pete's deceit and restore order to the kingdom. A superb example of Disney artistry and storytelling, this production-used cel beautifully captures the charm of Mickey Mouse. Condition is Very Good.
