Description
The Magilla Gorilla Show Magilla Production Cel Sequence of 4 (Hanna-Barbera, c. 1964-66). "Take our advice: At any price, a gorilla like Magilla is mighty nice!" From the title segment of The Magilla Gorilla Show comes this lively sequence of 4 original production cels of Magilla himself in an iconic chasing pose. In the titular segment Magilla, a loveable but clumsy gorilla, lives in Mr. Peebles' Pet Shop. Mr. Peebles repeatedly tries to sell or give away the gorilla with no success, constantly having Magilla returned to him by the end of the episode. The series aired for a total of 31 episodes across two seasons in the mid-1960s, and included two other segments titled "Ricochet Rabbit & Droop-a-Long" and "Punkin' Puss & Mushmouse". This delightful sequence features the derby hat and suspender-clad gorilla running in four frames with a full-figured character averaging approximately 4.5" x 3.5" in each image. The hand-painted 12 field production cels have each been trimmed on the right edge, and the sequence has been placed on a print background for display purposes. The cels each exhibit mild linework wear with some professional restoration. With typical handling and edge wear, overall this dynamic sequence is in Good to Very Good condition.Auction Info
