The Lord of the Rings Frodo, Sam, and Gollum Production Cel Signed by Ralph Bakshi (Ralph Bakshi, 1978). Frodo and Sam grapple with the lowly Gollum in this excellent hand-painted original production cel from Ralph Bakshi's ambitious animated feature film The Lord of the Rings. Preceding Peter Jackson's acclaimed trilogy by more than two decades, Bakshi's The Lord of the Rings is impressive in scope, setting a standard for a film that was considered unadaptable at the time. This rare 12 field cel captures a great shot of the trio measuring 5" x 5", displayed on a printed background for presentation purposes. Excitingly, the piece bears the rare signature of director Ralph Bakshi, and it is joined by a Bakshi Productions Certificate of Authenticity. The cel bears the numbered 191 in the lower right corner. Minor handling and edge wear from normal studio use, and the condition is Very Good.Auction Info
