The Little Mermaid Sebastian Production Cel on Key Master Painted Background (Walt Disney, 1989). "The Art of the Little Mermaid" auction was held in New York City on December 15, 1990 and featured only 283 hand-painted original production cels with hand-painted Key Master backgrounds. This was lot #166 from that sale and features a freshly floured Sebastian the crab in the clutches of Chef Louis. The image measures 6" x 6" on a 12 field cel presented over the original one-of-a-kind hand-painted Key Master watercolor background. The cel is numbered B81 and the background is marked PROD 0497 BG SEQ 8 SCN 126. The Little Mermaid was Disney's last feature film to utilize hand-painted cels and art from this historic sale rarely comes up for sale. The art is unframed and in Very Good Condition.
