Description
The Little Mermaid Ariel Production Cel (Walt Disney, 1989). Ariel leaps out of bed when she hears the good news of the upcoming marriage of Prince Eric (unbeknownst to her, the bride-to-be is Ursula in disguise, and not poor Ariel). Seen at the 1:04:51 mark of the landmark animated film The Little Mermaid, this is a spectacular hand-painted original production cel. Regarded as the first film of the Disney Renaissance and the very last Disney feature film to be animated on hand-painted cels, The Little Mermaid marks a major turning point in the history of the Walt Disney studio. Ariel measures a centered 6" tall on the 12 field cel, and the piece is displayed on a printed background for presentation purposes. The cel bears an official Walt Disney seal, and it is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity. The background has a horizontal crease through the middle, and the cel shows minor handling and edge wear, and the pegholes and edges are trimmed. The condition is Very Good.Auction Info
