Description

The Jungle Book Shere Khan Production Cel (Walt Disney, 1967). A commanding closeup image of Shere Khan, the suave yet terrifying antagonist of Walt Disney's 1967 classic, The Jungle Book-the studio's 19th animated feature. Hand-painted on acetate and trimmed to approximately 12" x 10", this striking production cel is paired with a printed background and matted to 17" x 15" for elegant display. Shere Khan, a powerful Bengal tiger, is feared as the jungle's most formidable predator; his mere presence unnerves foes and friends alike. His disdain for mankind-rooted in a fear of fire and guns-drives his vow to kill any human who enters the jungle, making him Mowgli's arch enemy. Designed by Ken Anderson, animated with refined authority by Disney Legend Milt Kahl, and voiced to purring perfection by George Sanders (a friend of Walt's, personally envisioned for the role), Shere Khan epitomizes effortless menace and aristocratic poise. The cel's bold silhouette, keen eyes, and poised jawline capture that iconic characterization in a single, unforgettable frame. A terrific display piece celebrating one of Disney's most notorious villains and the studio's pinnacle character animation craft. Cel condition is Very Good.
