Description
The Jungle Book Shere Khan Production Cel (Walt Disney, 1967). "I'm sure you wouldn't mind showing me your coils, would you, Kaa?" The fearsome and sly tiger Shere Khan attempts to coax the boa constrictor Kaa into revealing the whereabouts of the "man cub" Mowgli. Seen at the 58:53 mark of the Disney animated feature The Jungle Book, this magnificent hand-painted original production cel features Shere Khan in perfect form. Animated by Disney Legend inductee and one of Disney's "Nine Old Men" Milt Kahl (1909 - 1987) and voiced by the great British actor George Sanders (1906 - 1972), Shere Khan is a villainous character of nuanced subtlety, sophisticated cunning and expressive condescension. All qualities are showcased here in this incredible piece. Shere Khan measures 5.5" x 7" on a trimmed cel measuring 7" x 9.5". The cel is taped to a printed background for presentation purposes and shows minor handling and edge wear. The condition is Very Good.Auction Info
