Description
The Jungle Book Mowgli Production Cel (Walt Disney, 1967). "I wanna stay in the jungle." The wild protagonist of Disney's animated film The Jungle Book is showcased front and center of this lot, featuring a remarkable hand-painted production cel. Voiced by Bruce Reitherman, son of Woolie Reitherman, and also known for his performance as Christopher Robin in Winnie the Pooh and the Honey Tree, Mowgli was animated by a few of Walt's Nine Old Men: Ollie Johnston, Frank Thomas, and Milt Kahl. This 16-field production cel, numbered 47 in the bottom right corner, features Mowgli in his nighttime colors, measuring 3.25" x 8", and was used for the scene at the 9:34 mark of the movie. The lot is displayed on a printed background for presentation purposes. Showing minor handling and edge wear from production, the lot is in Very Good condition.Auction Info
