Description

The Harlem Globetrotters Bumper Card (Hanna-Barbera, 1970). Here is a RARE bumper card from the CBS Saturday morning Harlem Globetrotter cartoon series. The Harlem Globetrotters series featured the slapstick basketball troupe co-produced by CBS and Hanna-Barbera from 1970 to 1972. This was the first animated television series to have a primarily African American cast. In broadcasting, a commercial bumper, or break-bumper often shortened to bump, is a brief announcement, usually two to fifteen seconds in length that can contain a voice over, placed between a pause in the program and its commercial break, and vice versa. Programming bumpers include phrases such as, "We'll be right back after these messages" or variations of it. This bumper indicates, "We now return to the Harlem Globetrotters." Hand-painted on 12 field acetate and paired with the hand-painted background color card. Bumper cards are highly sought-after by astute collectors. Overall condition is Very Good.
