Description

The Fox and the Hound Tod and Widow Tweed Production Cel (Walt Disney, 1981). "We met, it seems, such a short time ago. You looked at me, needing me so; yet from your sadness our happiness grew." Kind-hearted Widow Tweed does what she doesn't want but must do and drives Tod to a game reserve where she will release him, in this original hand-painted multi-level production cel. We think this is the image from about the 50:29 timestamp as the journey away from Widow Tweed's farmhouse begins; the Widow's saddened image has been cropped out in the film, as the director decided a close-up of Tod looking back was needed here. This is a huge image that includes the Widow's car; the overall image size fills the mat opening, which measures approximately 14" x 10". The cel includes a silver Walt Disney Company seal in the lower right. The cels appear to have been laminated (a common practice at the Disney Studios in the 1990s) but with no haloing or other obvious problems associated with lamination. The cel scene is matted and framed using glass; a Disney Certificate of Authenticity is on the back side. All frames are sold as-is. Photos are not representative of actual frame condition. The condition is Very Good with minor handling wear.
