Description
The Fox and the Hound Big Mama "Appreciate the Lady" Production Cel (Walt Disney, 1981). Big Mama aids a pair of love-sick foxes, Tod and Vixey, with a romantic ballad in this hand-painted production cel from Disney's momentous animated film The Fox and the Hound. This beloved film is based on the novel of the same title by Daniel P. Mannix, telling the touching story of a fox named Tod befriending the hound dog Copper. The Big Mama seen here can be found near the 1:06:15 timestamp, when Big Mama tries to ease Tod into being kinder to his love interest with the musical number "Appreciate the Lady". A moving performance that was done by the talented Pearl Bailey (1918-1990), an American actress who notably hosted an evening variety show in 1971 called The Pearl Bailey Show. Big Mama measures approximately 6" x 6", displayed on a printed background and featuring a Walt Disney Company stamp in the bottom left corner. The cel has minor studio handling wear, edge wear, and it has been laminated with a few air pockets between the laminate and paint. In Good condition.Auction Info
