Description
The Flying Mouse Full Nitrate Production Cels Group of 2 (Walt Disney, 1934). "I Would Like to Be a Bird!" Presented in this lot is a pair of hand-inked and hand-painted full nitrate cels from the 1934 Silly Symphonies short The Flying Mouse. This adorable 1934 theatrical short told the endearing story of a mouse who dreams of flying like a bird and was directed by David Hand. The first cel features a full figure image of the title character from around the 7:50 mark. The second cel features the mouse with wings made of leaves. The image measures 6.5" x 3" and appears around the 1:28 mark. Both are extraordinary survivors that date to over 90 years ago. Both cels exhibit slight warping typical of nitrate and the second cel is missing some paint in the right leaf. Overall condition is Good.Auction Info
