Description

The Flintstones "Monster Fred" Original Fred Production Cel (Hanna-Barbera, 1964). This vintage production cel captures a memorable moment from "Monster Fred," the second episode of the fifth season of the original The Flintstones, which aired on September 24, 1964. Hand-painted on 12-field acetate, the cel shows Fred Flintstone sporting a comically oversized lump on his head after being struck by a bowling ball-an injury that triggers the episode's central gag. Paired with a background print for context, the setup highlights Fred's exaggerated expression and the series' trademark physical comedy. In the episode, the blow to Fred's head causes him to awaken believing he is a baby, much to the confusion and frustration of those around him. In an attempt to restore Fred's normal personality, Barney takes him to Dr. Frankenstone, whose experiments with personality switching only deepen the chaos. This cel represents a key visual moment from a classic Flintstones storyline and showcases the expressive animation style of the series' prime years. A terrific piece of vintage television animation art, presented in Very Good condition.
