The End of Evangelion Mass Production Evas Production Cel Setup (Gainax, 1997). "I cannot be defeated! Mama is watching over me!" Asuka's tenacity is at full force when Seele sends the Mass Production Evas to deal with her, and the only source of power for the Eva 02 is its battery, giving her three and a half minutes to deal with the nine S2 Engine Evas. At the 37:46 mark of the groundbreaking film The End of Evangelion, we get this powerful image of the Eva 02 piloted by Asuka piercing through one of the Mass Production Evas and holding the S2 Core Engine of another one seconds before crushing it. The bottom cel presents the scene, while the top one is a correction layer, also known as kabuse cel. The image size for this scene is 10.25" x 8" on the 12 field size hand-painted production cel setup, with both cels numbered A30 on the top right corner.
