The End of Evangelion Eva Unit 02 Production Cel - Asuka's Death (Gainax, 1997). From Asuka's famous battle scene with Seele's monstrous mass-produced Evas, this is an astonishing original production cel featuring the key moment when, after being impaled by Longinus' spear, EVA 02 is dismembered, bringing his and Asuka's deaths. This scene is considered one of key animator Mitsuo Iso's finest works. Seen approximately at the 39:00 mark of the landmark anime film directed by Hideaki Anno. This striking piece is composed of two 12 field cels with a hand-painted image area of 10.5" x 9". The cel presents some paint loss. Displayed on a printed background for presentation purposes.
