The Country Cousin Title Production Cel with Preliminary Key Master Production Background (Walt Disney, 1936). In this Wilfred Jackson-directed short, Abner Countrymouse travels to the big city to visit Morty Citymouse. This beautiful Silly Symphony cartoon, released on 10/31/36, went on to win the Academy Award for Best Animated Short. This is an original hand-inked, hand-painted nitrate Title cel with a preliminary Key Master hand-painted production title background. Cel and background are trimmed to 11.5" x 9.5". Background is in gouache on light board. We believe this to be preliminary, as the shadow of Abner is not in the setup. It may have been on a separate cel or added later. This comes from former Disney in-betweener and screenwriter, Mr. Albert E. Lewin. Nitrate cel and background have tape marks in the top right corner; otherwise, condition is Very Good.
