DescriptionThe Country Cousin Abner Courvoisier Production Cel (Walt Disney, 1936).
This Academy Award-winning Silly Symphony theatrical short, The Country Cousin is a story based on the classic Aesop's Fable, "The Town Mouse and Country Mouse." It was directed by Wilfred Jackson and was released on 10/31/36. This is an outstanding, trimmed, hand-inked production cel of the "country cousin," Abner. The trimmed image is affixed to a cel and placed on a hand-painted Courvoisier background. Abner is a nice full-figure image in his overalls, measuring 3.5" tall. The piece is in an 11.5" x 12.5" frame with an opening of 5.5" x 5.5". Frame sold as-is. This is a superb piece of Courvoisier animation art from the Walt Disney Studios. Courvoisier animation art is considered the crown jewel of any astute collector's acquisition. Certificate of Authenticity from Courvoisier Galleries is included. Superficial, age-related cel warping. Good condition.
