The Brave Little Tailor Mickey Mouse Production Cel Courvoisier Setup (Walt Disney, 1938). "Did you kill seven with one blow?" asks the King. Mickey replies"Uh, yes your honor... and how!" This Academy Award-nominated short is considered one of Mickey Mouse's very best shorts. It was directed by Bill Roberts and released on 9/23/38. This is an exceptional hand-inked, hand-painted production cel of Mickey Mouse leaning against his shears as he tells the King about "killing seven with one blow" (flies, that is, not giants as the King believes). You can see the short online; this image appears at about the 2:51 mark. The nitrate cel has a figure size of about 4.5", placed on a Courvoisier airbrushed wood veneer background. The setup is in its original Courvoisier mat with hand-lettered inscription under the 6.25" x 6.5" opening; the overall mat size is 10" x 12", with the original trimmed label applied to the reverse. Mat is toned with handling wear. The cel appears to have some minor restoration. Condition is Very Good. From the Jack Kent Collection.
