Description
The Brave Engineer Casey Jones Production Cel (Walt Disney, 1950). "Casey Jones, Casey Jones! Are you ready? Ready to start for the Western Land!" Casey Jones checks his watch in this fantastic hand-inked and hand-painted original production cel from the Jack Kinney-directed theatrical short The Brave Engineer. The film was released on 3/3/1950, fifty years after Jones was killed, following the various exploits of the eponymous hero. The short featured animation by such greats as Milt Kahl, Al Bertino, and Fred Moore. Seen 39 seconds in the film, this piece captures an excellent image of the rarely seen Disney character, based on the legendary railroad engineer John Luther "Casey" Jones. Casey measures 5.5" x 5" on the 7.25" x 10.25" cel. The cel has been trimmed, and is stapled at the top edge to a sheet of paper with the hand-written notation "Casey Jones" and a Walt Disney Productions copyright stamp. The cel shows paint cracking and separation, and the condition is Fair.Auction Info
